Gameshop - A Website Review

Today's website review is on a gaming products website known as Gameshop. It is an online store based in Singapore that offers games on various platforms and PC related items.

Although they have a physical address, they do not operate as a retail store where you can just walk in and buy your games. It is strictly an online store, meaning, you can only make your orders online.

The good thing about this store is that, they are extremely up to date with the latest releases of games, and this puts even the bigger local stores to shame. Whatever I cannot find in the local stores, I can get it here. Also good it that they provide free delivery for local orders at least, and delivery is fast, and most items are received within 24 hours. You can even choose your desired delivery time slot, which I think is simply great!

I think customer service is important in any type of business, and I am glad to say that they are most eager to answer any questions that you may have. Very friendly staff, a plus point here. So, is everything good? Obviously, there is always two side to a coin isn't there?

Well, their prices are not the cheapest out there. I can often find cheaper prices at some of the local stores, but not by much. For instance, PC games can be bought at $1 cheaper elsewhere. A Razer Tarantula keyboard can be bought at $10 cheaper elsewhere. So yes, price differences varies with different products.

All in all, I still recommend it for it is one of the better local online game stores out there.

Review of Advertlets.com

From the name "Advertlets", one would probably have guessed that this website is related to advertisements, and you would be right to assume that. Their motto of "advertisers + bloggers = money + happy" is an interesting one. Just by this short tag line alone gives you an idea of what their goals are all about. It is an avenue where advertisers and bloggers can work together to gain a mutual benefit, earn money and of course be very happy in the process.

At the time of this review, the Advertlets network has over 29 million monthly impressions available for advertising, which is great news if you have something to sell, and would like to advertise it. What this means is simply that if you choose to advertise with them, you have a strong army of bloggers ready to help you get your advertisements and messages out there to the public.

The beauty of advertising through the medium of bloggers as opposed to traditional forms of mass marketing is that, it is very focused, based on the individual blogs' interests of different topics. As such, the demographics of the targeted audience is very focused as well. Bear in mind that each blog out there has their own group of readers and audiences. Now imagine that your advertisement is displayed not on one blog, but on multiple blogs, and you get the extended reach to a huge group of highly targeted audiences that traditional mediums of advertising just could not even come close.

So, as an advertiser it all sounds great. What if you are a blogger? How is all this relevant to you? For starters, many of the advertisements that are offerred by other websites to bloggers are generic, and thus ineffective. Imagine that you have a blog on mobile phones, and the advertisements that you place are on baby products. How is this relevant? Your target audience who are interested in mobile phones are probably not going to be interested in baby products, and thus, your click through rate is going to be low, and earning you very little money if any at all.

With Advertlets, the frustration for bloggers can finally come to an end. As mentioned, advertisements are highly focused, and they do a good match based on the content of your blog. Therefore, your readers and audiences will find the advertisements on your blog to be highly relevant, and thus, more likely to click on them and making you money as a blogger. To a blogger, there should be a good level of flexibility to blend in the advertisements into their blog. It is good to know that Advertlets offer different ways to display the advertisments such as sidebars and sponsored polls. In addition, monitoring and statistics is also crucial to a blogger. This is not overlooked, as it provides this through a polling system.

When you log on to their website, everything is easily located and accessible at a glance. On the "Dashboard Tab", you will see a quick summary of your account, including your earnings. This is a very neat feature, as no hunting high and low to locate a summary page. On the "Profile Tab", you will see a detailed form of various vital information that you can easily update quickly, including the always important "payee details".

Next, on the "Blogs Tab" is where you will find your marketing tools. This is where you can grab the pre-generated codes to put the advertisements on your blog. All is clearly laid out with the different available formats shown next to them. Moving along, you will see the "Earnings Tab". I am sure all bloggers will be most interested in this one. It provides information on your current earnings, as well as your cash out history. A handy little tab to monitor how you did during different periods of time.

This next tab called the "Stats Tab" is an interesting one. It allows for the blogger to collect some simple stats from the readers and audiences such as gender, age and profession. While it is useful, these are pretty general information. More categories of stats such as interests, hobbies and what they read on the internet would be nice.

In conclusion, Advertlets provide both advertisers and bloggers alike a win-win opportunity, and is one of the better structured programs out there on the internet today. More information can be found here.
